Terms and conditions
Draft terms for UK consumer sales. Have them reviewed by a solicitor or trading standards adviser before you take orders. Not legal advice.
1. Who we are
This website is run by Valueport Online, trading as Cordwain. Company number , registered in England and Wales. Registered office: . Email: .
2. Our products
We describe and photograph our products as accurately as we can. Leather is a natural material, so grain, marks and shade vary between items and between the images on this site and the item you receive. Product details may be updated as our samples are finalised.
3. Prices and payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT where VAT applies. Delivery is shown before you pay. Payment is taken by Stripe when you place your order. We never see or store your card details.
4. Your order
When you place an order we email you a receipt. That is not our acceptance. Your contract with us is made when we email you to say we have accepted your order or dispatched it. If we cannot supply an item we will tell you and refund you in full.
5. Pre-orders and dispatch
Where an item is marked as a pre-order we show its dispatch date. Otherwise we deliver within 30 days of your order unless we agree a different date with you.
6. Delivery and returns
Delivery, cancellation and returns are set out on our delivery and returns page, which forms part of these terms. We deliver within the UK only.
7. Personalised items
We emboss the initials exactly as you enter them. Check them before you pay. We cannot accept the return of personalised items unless they are faulty or not as described.
8. Return Card
A Return Card is an optional add-on. It is a card with a private QR code that you keep with your item. If someone finds the item and scans the card, they can send you a message through us. We pass the message to the email address you gave at checkout and never show that address, or your postal address, to the finder.
A Return Card helps but we cannot promise that a lost item will be returned. It only works if a finder sees the card and chooses to scan it. We cannot check who a finder is or whether their message is true, so take care when arranging to meet anyone. The card stays active until you ask us to switch it off. If you cancel an order under your cancellation rights, return the card with the item.
9. Your legal rights
Goods must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in these terms limits those rights or any other right you have by law.
10. Our liability
We are not responsible for loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when you placed your order. We do not limit liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything the law does not allow us to limit.
11. Complaints
If something goes wrong, email and we will reply within [number] working days.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring a claim in the courts there.
